On the #WeekendBreakfast, Lead SA coordinator Dianne McAlpine talked about a remarkable thing that’s happening in the town of Mokopane, Limpopo.

McAlpine says that some communities in Mokopane have been part of an experiment where free WiFi is accessible to the people.

Mining communities are often marginalized and we only hear about these communities when there’s a problem says McAlpine. She adds that members in the community can start talking about their own initiatives and opportunities for job creation.

It’s a company called CanPro and they’ve basically digitally activated the communities and youth enterprises.
